Life for Eliza and Noah drastically changes when they meet the 6' 5" new member of their class Ostrum. A lot of research had to be done to make sure that Ostrum really looked and walked like an Ostrich. You might notice some changes from the origional developmental illustration and what you see here. I checked out all the information I could get on the giant birds from the library and then went and sketched them from life at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. I didn't want him to look completely realistic but at the same time I needed him to be believeable as an Ostrich.
